Dexter is a 3-year-old Newfoundland/Collie in Billings, MT, who needs $2,000 for CAT Scan and Possible Surgery.

We got Dexter when he was about 5 months old. His original owner was going through a break-up and couldnt keep him. He was going to be big and she wanted to make sure he had room to run. Boy did he get big!!

Dexie- as my girlfriend calls him- is all heart.. no brains. Or so he would like you to think that. He is actually pretty smart. He knows where the treats are and is willing to sit nicely until he gets one. He loves to just cuddle and be the center of attention- no matter where he is. Everyone who meets him just wants to chill and hang out with him!

Dex is always making us laugh. He loves the hose and bath time but hates the rain. If he gets a treat he has never had before he'll run off with it to "examine" it and then come back with a smile for more if he likes it. It seems like hes always smiling! Happy smile and head nudge to the back door to go outside

On 9/14 he wasnt feeling good- lethargic and fever. We took him to Moore Lane Vet. They did blood work and kept him overnight. They sent him home with antibiotics and a week later he got worse. His face swelled and he couldnt breath. We rushed him back and now they arent certain what is going on. We might lose him. Hes only 3 and its just ripping my heart out

Im on SSDI and my girlfriend works. She applied for Care Credit for the first visit and that took all of her funds. She doesnt make enough to reapply for more. Were in a very tight spot and NEED to make sure Dexter is taken care of. He would never give up on us
