Dexter is a 3-year-old Black lab in Dayton, OH, who needs $2,000 for Heartworms, periodontal disease.

Rescued Dexter From Humane society over a year ago . The shelter forgot his rabies shot had to take him back, they might’ve forgot heart worm shot also, he’s got heart worms so bad its called iCaval. Thanks to covid we lost jobs, and can’t afford surgery or treatment. I don’t want to put him down but I don’t want to surrender him and have him waiting for me to pick him up everyday.

He sleeps with us, wakes up nice and early to go outside to sunbathe. It’s really hard to get him to eat whoever had him before us are despicable things . To this day he still won’t eat or drink without tail between his legs. We have taught him to play and I believe he knows we would never hurt him. So he knows hes safe until we took him to vet 2 days ago. If we had the money he’d be healed

We both lost our jobs due to covid. I’m not eligible for unemployment so I ha e no income and my husband just had surgery and is being forced into early retirement . Our kids are grown living their own lives . Dexter is the only thing we have besides each other

We took Dexter to the vet the day before yesterday (Banfield Animal Clinic), because he kept shaking his head. I knew from a dog I had owned before it was my daughters but she took him when she moved out - (Imagine the nerve of he taking her dog when she left ) that’s when We found out he had worms . He’s such a spaz it’s like when we taught him how to play with squeaky toys he was so proud of himself and at same time had no idea what to do with his legs . He’s so goofy. We don't want to surrender him to the shelter but we don't have money to heal him . Time is not on our side his heart should be filled with our love , not worms
