Diego is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Littleton, CO, who needs $2,000 for ACL Surgery.

In 2021 we finally were able to get our 1st family dog. We got Diego from the Max Fund rescue. We were looking for a certain breed and wanted a new puppy...but we got a call about a new dog that had just been surrendered with his brother. He was already 5 months old and 50 lbs. When we met him I knew we had found the most gentle sweet dog and I knew he would be my 3 year old's best friend!

Diego started limping, we thought he was probably too young for hip problems. When we took him into our vet, they said that he had a partial tear of his ACL. We tried the holistic approach to healing with no improvement. Surgery is the only option. Our vet recommended going through the Max Fund to get the surgery. This weekend he yelped and now he can't put any weight on it.

Diego's favorite place is the dog park and playing with other dogs! At home he fill our home with love and lots of talking. He has a special bond with his boy (7 year old Jeremiah) & loves everything from playing in the snow, swimming, playing race cars and hide n seek with him. Even at 80 lbs he is our fur baby. Scared of all thunder, sitting on our laps and sleeping with us. He is the best dog!

Due to Co-vid and inflation. We are in the process of trying to keep our house and going through bankruptcy. We are unable to get a line of credit to pay for this surgery. Without help we would have to surrender him again which would break all of our hearts!
