Dinky is an 11-year-old Shih Tzu in Towson, MD, who needs $2,000 for Phacoemulsification.

Our Dinky has been in our family since she was adopted by us in the Philippines. She lived most of her life over in the Philippines but has recently come to the United States with my wife after the loss of my wife's parents due to COVID who was taking care of her. She lives with my wife and I in our apartment in Towson Maryland and trying to adjust to the Maryland weather compared to before.

Our Dinky is always keeping both my wife and I happy regardless of how difficult our life has been the last few years. She also is a registered emotional support dog for my wife who is struggling from anxiety and depress since her parents both passed away in 2020 due to COVID and medical issues. She is always here comforting us both regardless if she is not even feeling well herself at times.

She has so many things that she does that makes us happy and smile. It can be as simple of how adorable she looks when she stretches or her "diva" type attitude when she doesn't get what she wants. She often will not get something she wants and goes to her bed and faces away from us in revolt. She will occasionally look back over her shoulder to see if we are looking and giving in to her.

She has been diagnosed with cataract in both eyes and will require surgery for both. She now frequently bumps in to things in the home and even walls which is heartbreaking. She is very clingy to my wife and I since she is losing her vision. We want her to have her vision back for her last few years of her life. Her vet is Dr. Corcoran, VetVision of Virginia in Fairfax VA who is very good.

In 2020 when attending my wife's parents funerals we became stuck in the Philippines due to COVID shutting down the airlines. We we stuck there over eight months and both lost our jobs due to this situation. We came back to the US with bills and other things stacked up.
