Miss Dixie was rescued from a puppy mill. She was fixed when rescued. Her next owners needed to find her a new home because they were moving. One look at that sweet face and I could not resist. She needed intense flea treatment, Between almost shaving her bald and 10 flea baths and a dose of Bravecto we are flea free.We have also gotten her rabies and heartworm prevention updated.

Dixie has only been here a month but her impact on our family has been incredible. She is so happy and loving. She gets along with her 2 male brothers like shes always been here. My husband and sons have fallen in love with that cute face. She keeps her eyes on me always wanting to know where I'm at. I'm glad to have another female in the house, I believe she knows shes forever home and safe

I am disabled. I have a soft spot for dachshunds. All 3 of the ones I have needed a home and care. I recently have lost 2 of my boys. Our Care Credit is maxed out for trying to save my Barney. He had Cushings Disease and diabetes. Dixie deserves a happy and healthy life.

Eastside Animal Hospital in Spartanburg SC has taken care of all my pets for 10 years. Miss Dixie has some dental issues. She had to be put on antibiotics for abscess teeth. She will need 1 or 2 of them to come out. Because of her age she will have to have lab work before getting put to sleep. I know my last pet to have this done was a little over 300.00 for one tooth.

Dixie is so special because she has such a sad history, but yet her disposition is so sweet. Shes a very loving and happy dog. Her always wanting to be with me makes me smile. We have a baby gate at our hallway entrance, I was in the back room and she was in the living room at the gate. Next thing I know she knocks the gate down and comes running to me. My tiny bestie wanted to be sure I was home.
