Dixie Mae is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Brainerd, MN, who needs $2,000 for Surgery for Open Pyometra.

Dixie Mae came into our life when we found a Basset hound breeder and fell in love with her the second we saw her. She has brought so much love to our family and grandkids for 5 years now. We are blessed every day she is with us. Her tail wags every time we say her name and she love to meet new people.

She has become very ill but is not showing it with her great resilience. She started bleeding very bad after her heat cycle. We got very worried and had to bring her to an emergency vet 2 hours away from home. The vet did an ultra-sound and found out she has "open pyometra" and needs emergency surgery within a day or two. The surgery is between $3000 to $5000. that is not possible for us.

Dixie Mae is a cuddle buddy with our grandson Eddie. It warms our heart to see him smile when they cuddle on the couch. Dixie is always happy to see people and loves belly rubs and also loves getting her ears rubbed. Dixie thinks she is a 60 pound lap dog.

My wife and I are on social security and are scrapping by to pay bills so a $3000-$5000 vet bill in not possible. We looked into care credit but at 30% interest cant be done. We are out of options and time is running out for our Dixie Mae.
