Dixie Mae is a 3 year old Border Collie in Gilmer , TX, who needs $1,500 for Back Leg Amputation Due to Severe Injury.

Our Dixie girl was born 2/2/22. She’s been with us since that fateful day. Her two best friends are my son and her Mom. Our adventurous girl is three years old, and if we can raise the funding, she’ll live for many more years.

Dixie’s back & back left leg has open wounds and is shattered at the knee and needs to be amputated from the knee down. We’re trying to raise the money as soon as possible because she could go septic. She’s on borrowed time right now. The only vet that was willing to see her was healthy paws animal Hospital in Gladewater she’s on pain, meds and antibiotics to borrow her time but the leg has to go

Dixie Mae is a happy go Lucky goofy hyper excited little girl. She is a talker. She always says hi and thank you and her favorite thing to do is play fetch outside with her tennis ball. Her favorite person is my 1.5 year old son. She’s supposed to be the dog my boy can grow up with. she can’t get enough pets she loves being the center of attention at all times she’s definitely a people’s puppy.

We are low income family we live paycheck to paycheck. I was recently out of work with an eye injury. So funds were low to begin with. Dixie’s medical cost are more than my rent. My only other option is to put her down, but she’s showing she wants to live & she’s fighting
