About this campaign

DJ was a product of an oopsie with Spike and Daisy. He found a good home but eventually circumstances changed and his owner could no longer care for him. We gladly welcomed him back to our family several years ago, where he was reunited with his brother, Krash. DJ is a couch potato who loves spending his days on the king sized bed and occasionally playing ball.

DJ really is the sweetest boy. When he goes to the dog park, he seeks out every human to make new friends. He has a few doggie brothers and sisters at home and loves everyone, from tiny little Lola the 4lb chihuahua to his big brother Krash. He spends most days hanging out with Krash on the bed, lounging in front of the fan.

DJ will require three more rounds of chemo, with weekly blood tests and repeat chest X-rays. To date we have spent more than $7,000 with all the testing and treatment. We have come too far to let my boy down. We are so close to giving him his best shot at survival.

DJ started limping and developed swelling on his front paw in May, 2021. We took him to our vet and received the devastating news that he likely had osteosarcoma. Testing confirmed the terrible news. He has now had amputation. Testing has shown that there has been some spread so he requires chemotherapy, which he is receiving at Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center.

DJ loves his treats. Even with all he’s been through so far, he will jump up for a treat. And he is so resilient. After his amputation, someone would carry DJ up and down the stairs to go outside. But only three days after his amputation, DJ made it to the steps first and hopped his way up to bed. Even coming out of anesthesia when the technician checked on him, DJ got up and took a walk to say hi
