About this campaign

I met DJ after reaching out to a volunteer dog rescuer stating that I wanted to foster a Senior. She sent me a list of those available at various shelters. The organization I began fostering through, Sandy Paws Sanctuary abruptly shut down stating due to “medical emergency”
We received no communication at all.
There are 50+ dogs with various fosters who now have no financial support.

DJ is a sweet guy who loves meeting new people, walks and car rides. He is the only dog in the home and his favorite snacks are mint and coconut dental chews as well as salmon training treats.

DJ smiles all the time and follows me everywhere. Although he is an older guy, he has bursts of energy (zoomies) especially after a good nap! He is allergic to chicken. And does not beg for people food.

DJ was diagnosed with chronic dry eye, which means he does not produce the amount of tears needed to prevent infection. Without the proper lubrication on the eye, pigment will build up over the cornea and result in permanent blindness.

The vet at Manhattan Beach Animal Hospital is attempting to manage DJ's eye condition with 3 medications. The hope is that once the clarity of his eyes is stable, only 1 ointment will be required twice daily. However, this will be for the remainder of his life.
