Dobby is a six-year-old Chihuahua mix in Jacksonville, FL, who needs $1,363 for critical hospitalization.

When Mia S. first saw Dobby, he was just an eight-week-old pup who needed a home. She had a hunch she should adopt him."As soon as I saw him, I knew he would be the greatest addition," Mia tells Waggle. "He is the happiest dog I've ever met."

And Mia's hunch was 100% correct. Dobby has been an outstanding, loving, and loyal family member. When their family got a little bigger with the addition of baby Lee, Dobby was in heaven! The two get along so well. Mia's pictures and videos of them together are precious."He loves his baby sister, Lee," Mia says.

But recently, Dobby had trouble breathing. Mia rushed him over to BluePearl Pet Hospital, where veterinarians diagnosed Dobby with subcutaneous emphysema. "Dobby has tears in his trachea, which are leaking air into his chest and body," Mia says. "He has to stay at the hospital and get oxygen because he's having a hard time breathing on his own. He is improving day by day, but we can't take him home, so we are paying day by day, which is very expensive. His doctor said it would just take time to heal on its own."

Right now, Mia and her husband are struggling financially and need some help saving their beloved four-legged family member who they adore so much."Time is money, and he's at the hospital day and night," Mia says. "I haven't been able to work because we just had a baby and my husband has lost some income due to COVID. I'm afraid this decision will come down to finances."
