About this campaign
Dolly was rescued from a cat mill in LA that was trying to breed Siamese-appearing cats. They tossed her into the street where she lived under a dumpster drinking dirty water, contracted parasites, and became pregnant. I adopted her from the amazing Tails Up Kitty Rescue Ranch and nursed her back to health. We moved from California to New York and she lives with me and my fiancé Nick in Brooklyn.
Dolly became sick quickly and was hospitalized at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital for an acute flare-up of pancreatitis. She is stable, but still has a fever and an elevated white blood cell count. Because she is sick and in pain, she won't eat by mouth, so she had a feeding tube placed to provide nutrition. She will likely need surgery to place an outpatient tube so she can get food and meds at home.
Dolly is an incredibly sweet, smart, spunky, playful, cuddly cat. She lives for playing and can jump incredible heights, do flips in the air, roll over, and even play fetch! She is my certified support animal and loves constant physical contact. She is a social butterfly and follows us all around the house. She adores full-on belly rubs and will often roll over for a good scratching session.
We are living off a single limited income and have drained $13,000 of savings to cover Dolly's sudden hospitalization and treatments so far. She has an excellent prognosis if she can get the rest of the treatments she needs, but we need assistance covering the ongoing costs.
