About this campaign
Dolly was left abandoned in a parking lot for 3 days before gaining the trust of our youngest son. Dolly lived with him for a few years before coming to live with us. She has been with us and her now older brother Tank for more than 5 years. The two dogs are very attached to each other and we love them both dearly. We live in the country , they enjoy walking the woods and playing on the farm.
Dolly was diagnosed with congestive heart failure a few months ago at the Dundee vet clinic in Dundee, MI. She is on 3 medications but has reach stage 4/5 and now requires weekly drainage/abdominocentesis. The meds and drainage procedure will be ongoing until it is no longer effective and other final arrangements need to be made.
Dolly is her brother Tanks eyes and ears, he is almost deaf and partially blind. They are pretty much inseparable. Dolly is very protective of her human family and is very voicestress about it. She has little dog syndrome and will not allow other dogs around her family. She used to love to go for runs in the woods but now only goes for rides. Since being diagnosed she has chilled but enjoys life.
We were managing the costs of the medication but with the cost of the abdominocentesis needing to be done weekly we are struggling. This procedure is need in order to keep her quality of life maintained. There is no way of knowing how long this will be effective.
