Domino is a rescue I took in 2 years ago. It's clear from her multiple scars, she had a rough start and her living situation at the time I took her in was fraught with frequent episodes of being hit with toys from kids, her ears and tail pulled and yanked, basically a less than ideal situation for an old girl just wanting to relax and enjoy her golden years.

Domino was portrayed as aggressive and unpredictable but from my first interaction with her, I only saw a sweet and loving old girl that wanted to shower you with kisses. I knew she'd be a lovely friend for my other rescue; Shipley, that also came from a rough start and the two hit it off immediately. They are an inseparable pair. She's been a great addition to our family.

This year has been the Queen of unexpected expenses for EVERYONE. From $1600 vehicle repairs & $1300 dental expanders for my son to additional childcare costs from school closing. It's been a stretch but we love our girl and hope to get her treatment soon.

When I took Domino in, she was fairly healthy with the exception of noticeable bad breath and tooth decay. It was pretty clear she had not had any real dental care during her life. A recent exam showed she is still doing well but has some advanced dental and gum issues that left untreated can lead to systemic infections and is currently affecting her ability to chew her food and treats properly.

Dom-Dom; as my son calls her, is a lap dog at heart. She loves to cuddle and snooze on her pillow. She never misses an opportunity to steal a kiss if you get too close. Her other favorite is belly rubs. She's often found lounging with feet in the air and if you start to give her a scratch behind the ear, it won't be long before she's rolling over to invite her beloved tummy rubs.
