About this campaign

If you could see Donnie run and play, you may admire his handsome good looks or laugh at his silly antics. You’d probably never realize he had a serious heart condition that, if left untreated, will cause his death at a prematurely early age.

Several months ago we pulled Donnie from the shelter intending to send him to rescue. It was not until we sent him to be neutered that we realized he had a serious medical condition. Donnie has Pulmonic Valvular Stenosis, which means the critical valve that allows blood to flow between Donnie’s heart and lungs is not working.

If left untreated, Donnie will develop irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, then die.

The great news is veterinary medicine has progressed so much, that Donnie’s LIFE CAN BE SAVED through a special procedure by a cardiologist at Medvet. They can insert a balloon into that valve and open it, allowing Donnie’s body to once again have oxygenated blood.

It is a very technical procedure that comes with an associated high price. It is really no different than paying for orthopedic surgeries for 2-3 dogs, and this is a matter of LIFE OR DEATH for Donnie.

From the bottom of our hearts at One By One Animal Rescue and Donnie’s, we are asking you to help Donnie live by making a donation towards his surgery today.
