About this campaign

He is the best dog on the planet. He has helped raise my son and always knows when we need a good laugh. He used to howl to the other dogs in the neighborhood to find the kids so they would come play. He is the gentlest dog I have ever met. Doodles has spent 9 fun filled years with us. Helping my son get into trouble and causing me to have deep belly laughs. The first year of his life he tried to rule the roost, but after being neutered he calmed down a bit. I used to think he was a bad dog always tearing things up and getting into trouble so he was kenneled or sent to doggie daycare during the day. Then one day I found out through my husband who walked into a total mess it was my sweet, what I thought to be perfect border dork Lucky! Doodles quickly became the sweetest dog in the house and his true colors really started to shine. He has been on many adventures with my son including being happily carted around in a baby bike trailer with my son peddling down the trail in Lafayette, Colorado. He has learned to ride a long board to make us all giggle even harder so he could ride that alongside my son though not well, but he will happily wag and try. As we have undergone this surgery and the weekly vet follow up visits for two months to help keep patching up his knee where they removed one tumor I have grown much closer to him. Normally I am a border dork mom through and through but this dog just solidified my love for him while going back and forth and spending so much time at the ecologist office. It breaks my heart that such a great boy has gotten cancer, though it doesn’t seem to slow him down at all. He still runs amuck every night and play bows my three other dogs always wanting to bark and howl and be an incredibly big nutter. He loves to snuggle and tries so hard to fit in the chihuahua’s bed, which is just down right funny for a 65-pound dog. And while right now I am desperately trying to save me, I am only returning the favor. He has been there for me through many depressed and lonely nights after my divorce from my first husband. Always there to lick my face and love me when he knew I needed it. Never leaving me alone at night always walking between my son’s bedroom and mine to makes sure his sheep where cared for. When my son started to have night terrors and sleep walk he would warm me so I could make sure my son didn’t fall down the stairs. Even though he is the sick one, he snuggles me to sleep at night and makes sure my son gets to bed after a night of playing Xbox. My son doesn’t play with him like he used to, but that doesn’t stop Doodles from making younger boys his friends. Recently I discovered a hole in the fence that he had been using to go down the street and play with the neighbor kids. He would then sneak back in, check in with me and go back out. He is just a delight to have around and deserves to be saved. His prognosis with chemo is very good and he could live with us much longer. I love him, I need him to be in my life as long as he can and I would love the opportunity to share more Doodle adventures with you if you could just help us with the Chemo expense to get this going and save my little Doodle bugg.
