About this campaign
I took in a friend that was homeless so his dog that was due any day could have her puppies in a safe place. Doris’s sac didn’t rupture and she wasn’t breathing I removed the sac an got her breathing. My “friend” took off in the middle of the night with mama dog leaving me with all the pups at just 3 weeks old. I found them all good homes but I couldn’t bring myself to let Doris go.
Doris broke her elbow at only 4 months old she wasn’t breathing I running down the stairs and jumped the last couple stairs . The vet it’s common in puppies the force from landing all her weight on her front legs is just too much. It’s on her growth plate so she has to be able to move it or it won’t grow properly so they will put 2 screws and a plate in her elbow to hold the bones in place.
Doris has such a loving spirit! Her playful energy lights up our home, and she has an incredible ability to make everyone around her smile. She loves to cuddle and is always so excited to greet new people. Her favorite game is tug of war where her little growls are bigger then she is. She always has us laughing at the funny faces she makes and spontaneous zoomies she’d get in her sleep.
Puppies only have a short time to be puppies. I think about how happy and she was before the accident. I see her galloping over to me with her tongue hanging out her mouth her silly look on her face. I haven’t seen that since she broke her elbow, alm I want is her happiness
