Dozer ( judy mitchell ) is a 12-year-old Red Merle Australian Shepherd in Martins Ferry, OH, who needs $2,000 for treatment and surgery for hyperparathyroidism .

Dozer is actually my moms dog. She was coming home from the store one day when she saw a young man walking him and she was taken back by his beauty. This came after putting our childhood dogs down all about 6-8 months apart from one another.
The young man explained he was looking for a home for him as he was moving and couldn't keep him. We took him over night and fell in love with this dog. My mom was going through a lot of health problems at the time, recovering from multiple brain aneurysm surgeries and Dozer seemed in tune with the need to be gentle around her and took to her immediately. He has since been with her through a divorce as well as the healing and dealings with PTSD from a physical attack. Although he has never been trained to do so he wakes her through the night when she has night terrors and comforts her. He has been there with her when she had to move out of the home that she fell in love with and fought so hard to get when she got divorced and had to move into a smaller home that her Disability pay would allow her to afford. Dozer travels everywhere with her and her Fiance, he even goes camping with them. He is truly her best friend.
When her grandchildren come over to visit he is as gentle with them as one could ever imagine and curls up with them taking turns sleeping between them and my mom. He has been a blessing in disguise for her and losing him would truly put her in a depressive spiral.
