Dozer is a 9-year-old Chihuahua Dachshund Mix in Pilot Mountain, NC, who needs $2,000 for IVDD treatment.

We got Dozer as a puppy 9 year ago, he was the cutest. His ears were bigger than his entire body. He grew up to fall in love with my boyfriend at the time who is now my husband. When we got married Dozer was right there with us. We now live on a farm and Dozer goes everywhere with him. Dozer has been part of our family for 9 years now and he has been one of the staples in our lives.

Dozer has been a lot of places in his life, he has traveled many miles with me. He has been on vacations and trips. When my son was born Dozer always wanted to be close to him, he even climbed in his bassinet just to be close to him. Dozer has always been a people pet, he's the first one to greet you and the last one with you at night. He is so loved.

Dozers condition came on all of a sudden, he went out to potty one morning and came back in and the signs started to show something was wrong. The severity of his diagnosis has really hit us hard. Asking for help is hard enough for anyone but in times like now we need it.

Dozer was diagnosed with IVDD. Unfortunately for him it is a server case and it affection all of his legs. It is mainly worse in the front but is in the hind legs as well. His regular vet stated that we are going to treat with medication to seek improvements, but for me to be expecting the worst. Surgery is seeing a specialist and any small amount is going a long way.

Dozer is only 14 pound, but he has never let that stop him. One of his favorite things to do is chase squirrels, my husband loved to take him out in the woods so he could chase them. He never lets his size bother him, he doesn't know he is little. Dozer has a lot of grit, I know he can pull through this, he just needs a little bit of help.
