About this campaign

I wanted to get a playmate for Gia (almost 3yr old Boxer)so I found Drax when he was 6 months, he came from a farm in northern Utah a breeder who breeds Giant Schnauzers. Drax is a giant teddy bear when he’s in his safe place and he’s become very close to Gia, he’s like her giant little brother. He’s been with us for the last year and a half on Capital Hill. He loves hikes and Tanner Park.

He’s been healthy for the majority of his life here but recently during Gia’s season he’s been anxious and stressed and I wasn’t prepared to properly take care of him in this situation. I contacted an animal hospital but don’t have the money to ensure it’s nothing serious.

Drax is a big boy and can come across as intimidating or aggressive but he’s all bark and no bite. He’s always trying to get guests and family’s attention when they visit and is mostly calm and caring towards people. He likes to play with ropes and balls with Gia and fling them in the air.

I have been struggling with mental health and SUD issues that caused me to loose my job several months ago and I have struggled to get through it and get back on my feet. I’ve fallen behind on most of my responsibilities and being a guardian to Drax was included.
