About this campaign
Ducky was the victim of a serious and unexplained trauma. We were told she may have fallen from a chair, but the extent of her injuries tells us it was something much more severe. Although we don’t know exactly what caused her injuries we knew RBARI had to step in and get her the care she needs.
When Ducky arrived, she was weak, struggling to maintain her body temperature, and showing signs of serious head trauma. Her body was so weak, she was struggling to do much more than just lay still.
But Ducky isn’t giving up, and neither are we.
With hospitalization and supportive care, Ducky has started to show us small but hopeful signs. She is becoming more alert, moving around and eating regularly from a syringe.
Right now, Ducky’s 24-hour care includes monitoring and supportive treatment. She has also gotten diagnostics to understand the full extent of her injuries.
Ducky remains in an incubator, needing help to regulate her temperature. Head trauma is unpredictable, and we don’t yet know the full extent of her injuries or if there will be lasting neurological damage.
But what we do know is that Ducky deserves the chance to keep fighting. Please help us get her the help she needs. We can’t do this without your generous support.
4/18/26 Update
We are saddened to share that after lots of love and medical attention, Ducky has crossed the rainbow bridge. We are so thankful for all the support Ducky was shown and the continued support for RBARI's animals.
