Dudley is a 12-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever in Stephenson, VA, who needs $2,000 for Splenectomy.

We got Dudley after the loss of my shepherd collie mix of 16 years. Dudley came right up to us and wanted to play ball. At the time we were trying to figure out what to name him and I always like the name Dudley and the lady that we were getting Dudley from said that's funny because his nose is chocolate and they call that a Dudley nose, so we knew then he was the pup for us.

At the end of January this year we all had covid. My daughter and I ended up with Covid pneumonia and was admitted into the hospital. My daughter wasn't as bad but I had to stay for nine days and come home on oxygen. While I was in hospital everyone said Dudley remained by the front door waiting on me to come home and was excited when I did. He stayed by my side until I was well enough.

Dudley talks alot, he has come very close to speaking clearly enough to understand him in english. His favorite word is NO and he will shake his head NO.
He has golden eyes that people say looks so soulful and humanly.
Dudley loves his family, cows, Christmas lights and his toys. He also likes to wear his doggie clothes especially his pajamas and to play outside.

On December 10th, 2022 I rushed Dudley to his vet in Leesburg, VA due to him suddenly falling over. Upon the vet exam it was noticed that he had a tumor/mass in his spleen. Bloodwork was done and the next day a specialist was called in to do an ultrasound to look further. It was confirmed that he had a rather large clumping mass/tumor within the spleen unsure if cancer but does need to be removed.

I talked to referred vet office, in Manassas, Virginia for surgery it will cost about $6000 possibly a little more due to the fact he is an big older dog. For Dudley to have this surgery would mean the world to us, knowing he can live his remaining years in comfort.
