My little sweetheart came to me 14 years ago. Someone was trying to resell her on Craigslist, after realizing they weren't ready for a puppy. I called & advised I couldn't afford what they were asking, but could offer $50 & promise a good home / that she wouldn't end up in a life of breeding. She said no, then called crying a couple days later & let me pick up my best friend!

Duffles is usually a feisty little thing, so when she began vomiting & backing into corners, I knew something was very wrong. I rushed her to the emergency vet, where she underwent x-rays & bloodwork. She is being treated for acute pancreatitis, but we need an ultrasound to determine if there is an underlying cause (pancreatic cancer or gallbladder), a shot for inflammation, & hospitalization.

I call Duffles my Tiny Dancer & Boss Man Peeg. She is always dancing- especially when I come home & to get me to play. She is now fully deaf & has taken to short, authoritative barks to get her needs met. She gives me the full-on business & "yells" at me every time I come home, when I'm in the shower, & whenever she feels like it. She loves to go crazy when I "hype man her" 🩷

It's been a long road for Duff- 2 bladder stone surgeries, IVDD, & just recovered from a dental followed by ear infection. We are $1300 in for this already & just fresh out. She has so much fight. When she goes out, I want it to be because she's ready, not finances.
