Duke is a 3 year old Alaskan Malamute in Benton Harbor , MI, who needs $400 for Steroids, Antibiotics, and Repeat Lab Work.

Duke just turned 3 yrs old today, July 19th. He is the our 2nd Mal after having lost our first to bone cancer at only age 4. We have had him he was 8 weeks old and he goes everywhere we go..

Duke has never had any health problem up until 2 weeks ago… He has always had his wellness and preventive care as recommended. Approx 1 week ago he became weak , lethargic, not eating or drinking much. We took him to his vet ant Nickerson Animal Hospital. His blood work revealed him to be very anemic and low platelets .. possibly due to an auto-immune disorder destroying his blood cells.

Duke is very attached to his fury friend , Mac, our 10 yr d cat.. they lay next to each other when outside. He is our first dog raised inside the house despite his size.. He goes to work with us, errands, and loves to go to the dog park and our cabin up north.

We are a family of 4, 2 sons still in high school. We are able to pay our bills and his wellness care .. however it was unexpected that he would become ill and have his office visit be over $400 but did include his medications .. he has to see vet and repeat labs this week.
