We were contacted by the owners surrendering Duke. This is a story of neglect and then ultimately wanting to do the right thing. He has had a broken leg since September, is underweight at 33 pounds (2 years old) and is heartworm positive. The cost of surgery and further treatment is estimated to be $10,000.

Duke is just happy to be around caring people. He is not very active with the broken leg, but is eating well and provides lots of kisses. There are many people around him giving their love and encouragement. We just need the funds to ensure that he returns to his healthy staff and looks forward to a long life ahead.
