Duke is a 8 year old Labrador Retriever in Oakley , CA, who needs $2,000 for Insulin Therapy, Pain Meds and Fluids.

We rescued Duke from a neighbor down the street almost 7 years ago! We later found out he was abused not cared for, let alone ever slept in a home. He would be left outside rain or shine , no water or shelter and in the cold or heat. One day he got out, and the neighbor vocalized how sick of him she was and she was ready to give him away. I sent her a text that evening and hes been mine ever since

We were on vacation when we got a text from our dog sitter he wouldnt eat ( hes food driven) long story short he went to the vet and we headed home. We rushed him to the ER this am where we found out he has pancreatitis and keto acidosis. It can be treated and he can come out of it with a normal life getting insulin everyday! . He is currently being treated at VEG in contra costa county

Duke is the best boy! He loves to play with his sister, a belgian mallinois! His favorite thing to do is camp with his mom and dad at bodega bay! He is a talker, very vocal and persistent in what he wants! He is my spirit animal. We dont have kids, so duke has always been my boy. He is so smart and emotionally intune with people.

While we both work, nothing prepares you for a vet bill that is $10,000 and rising. Im doing everything i can to save my boy. It would mean everything to me to have him healthy and happy again going camping and playing! I just want my duke boy back to normal ❤️
