Duke, my English bulldog came into our lives in 2021. Prior to COVID-19, my younger brothers and I have always wanted a dog and because of how hard it was during the pandemic, my mom decided to surprise us with a new edition to the family!

Duke is a very stubborn dog, but so is everyone else in our family, that’s why we all get a long so well. He loves my younger brothers who are 2 and 3 years old.

Our favorite thing to do once we get home is see his smile waiting for us at the front door. He’s also very protective and acts like a guard dog. We feel very safe when he’s with us.

After walking Duke on 3/12/24, he became very lethargic. A couple of hours later, he started drooling excessively and started getting stiff and convulsing. It was so scary because he is otherwise very healthy. We rushed him to Creature Comforts Vet Clinic and they immediately jumped into action. They were so wonderful, kind, and explained all procedures and medications as they were doing them.

This was an extremely unprecedented and stressful event as we love Duke so much. We have 4 kids 2 being small toddlers and Duke is our fifth. We are a family that only has 1 income and have been already experiencing hardship so this emergency is hurting us financially
