Duke is a 10-year-old Boxer in Springfield, OR, who needs $807 for mass removal and dental surgery .

My boy Duke has been by my side from the moment I helped his mother Sadie deliver him, he had a rough birth coming into the world feet (paws) first. I hadn't planned on adding another family member but the bond was undeniable and I knew I needed him as much as he needed me.
That was 10yrs ago last month. He is loving, loyal, protective, kind, gentle and emotionally intelligent!

Duke is my personal safety alert system, letting me know when anyone is approaching our home. He's my body guard my therapist and bestfriend.
He acts tough but is all heart! He knows when someone is having a hard time. He's usually not more than a foot away from me at all times except when someone is having a hard time he will sit next to them not for attention but to let them know they're loved.

This year has been difficult for most people with uncertain times and the financial impact of Covid19. I've been out of work due to covid since March and struggling to make ends meet. Duke has been by my side with comfort, love and given me strength to not give up.

Duke has always had regular vet care and a recheck was put off due to closures and related issues of Covid19. I was recently able to get him in to see Dr. Amber at the
Community Veterinary Center and found out he needs 2 surgeries. He needs a dental procedure and a removal/reduction of the spot that has now grown and needs surgical treatment.

Duke loves drinking from the hose and makes the chore of watering the garden fun and entertaining play time.
He had a feline fur brother Tom that he loved from a tiny kitten and was so gentle, kind and protective. Sadly Tom's life was cut short and we lost him this past March.
Boxers are young at heart even as they turn grey they love to play, go on adventures and think their a small lap dog too
