I rescued our boy, Duke, in 2020. He was dumped with his litter when he was only days old, and I was lucky enough to adopt him around 6 weeks old at our local humane society. He has been by my side ever since, through thick & thin. He was recently blessed with a baby brother (my 7 month old son, Luca) & they are best friends. Duke is our everything and we need any help we can get for him.

As a rescue, Duke suffers from chronic anxiety, resulting in him anxiously scratching & flapping his ears, which ultimately cause ear issues, such as ear tip wounds and now, most recently, an ear hematoma. It’s getting progressively worse & he is battling a terrible ear infection as well from the swelling. He doesn’t want to get up to eat, drink, go outside or play. We are heartbroken & terrified.

Duke is a one of a kind dog. Have you ever seen the movie ‘Marley & Me’? Well, he is just like Marley. The runt, a total pain in the butt & the best dog in the world to us. He is usually so active and excited but right now he is in so much pain and hardly moving. Our 7 month old son is just starting to crawl and Duke is too sick to play. He is so loving & deserving & he completes our family.

Our baby boy Luca was born in March. We needed to upsize our home to accommodate our growing family & that came with inevitable financial struggle. I am still only working part time due to postpartum. It breaks my heart that I can’t give Duke the care he needs on my own.
