About this campaign
Duncan and his littermate Graham were adopted by their caregiver six years ago. Unfortunate circumstances have put their caregiver in a board and care situation since July 2021. Since I helped their caregiver adopt them I decided to take on their care now that their original caregiver can no longer care for them personally or financially.
Duncan and his brother live with my cats and a dog (and goldfish). Duncan's a bit of a rabble-rouser in the house chasing around with the others. He's very affectionate and likes to sit on my chest and drool from happiness and give me lots of head bumps. When his carrier is out and open, he likes to quietly sit in it and have a rest from the household activities.
Duncan likes to hang out with his littermate Graham, sleep under the covers, or snuggle into my bent legs during naptime. When it's snack time for wet food, Duncan puffs up his tail, squeaks and runs into the "wet food" room where he and his brother can share their daily snack like their original caregiver used to give him.
Duncan needs surgery to remove his feline resorptive lesions which is where his gums are dissolving his teeth and the only cure is to take out all of the affected teeth. He's already had one surgery for it that cost $1,000 that I paid for. His second surgery will cost over $1,500 to extract his remaining teeth to stop the disease from spreading and causing additional surgeries.
Since I have combined two cat households finances are stretched to the breaking point. The other cats have their needs that I pay for. I have a fixed income, I am a senior, which means that catastrophic expenses have to be met outside of the monthly budget.
