About this campaign

We purchased Duncan in July of 2023 from a local breeder. My 3 kids who are 13, 11, and 8 really wanted a dog ever since our Pit mix passed away about 5 years ago. I finally gave in since I'm a single Mom and thought it would also be nice to have a companion while the kids were with their Dad.

Duncan is a little spoiled and sleeps with me in my bed. But he is only 17 lbs! He likes to go on walks all over the neighborhood and has a friend named Lucy a miniature dachshund who usually comes outside to play when she sees him. He's finally tall enough to counter surf which he LOVES to do with my 8 year old near by because he knows that she'll give him treats.

Duncan loves to lick. He loves anyone who will rub his belly. And he loves playing with other dogs. Especially my parents dogs Tucker and Pixie. He's also got a pretty loud bark for a small dog which makes me feel safe when I don't have the kids here.

On 2/18/24 my daughter put his doggie stairs next to the couch in the living room and he slipped off and onto the wood floor causing a fractured distal radius and ulna-left thoracic limb - or a broken leg. We initially thought that the splint would be enough for 8-12 weeks but it looks like he will need surgery because of complications that could occur including malunion or angular limb deformity.

I am a single Mom of 3. I've worked full time for the same company for 21 years but I'm on a fixed income with no emergency fund and really not good credit.
