Dutchess is a 7-year-old German Shepherd/Husky in Colorado Springs, CO, who needs $800 for Eye Removal.

We adopted Dutchess from a family that had unexpected puppies, the mom was a Husky, dad a German Shepherd. We got her when she was 8 weeks old. My daughter was 3 at the time so they have grown up together! She has 2 sister doggies, Rosie and Sandy! She has struggled with glaucoma for a few month and unfortunately to treatment has been able to help.

Dutchess is a hoarder, she loves taking and keeping random things in her kennel like food and her babies (stuffed toys). Her favorite place to go is the dog park! She knows as soon as we turn on the street that is where we are going! She howls at the top of her lungs if I hug my husband ( she thinks its her husband too ) Dutchess has been such a blessing to our family!

Due to the virus I have recently had to leave my job, I am also on a fixed income of social security. The financial burden lies on my husband so as of no we have no savings. The glaucoma came on very fast and needs to be treated just as fast with almost no time to save up.

Dutchess is suffering from glaucoma in her left eye. We have tried drops and oral medication. She would not allow us to administer the drops consistently, she thought it was a game! She is being treated by the sweet Dr. Amy at Aspenwood Veterinary Clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado! She is need of surgery now to remove the eye and give her a better quality of life!

Dutchess is very vocal! She is a mother by heart, she has never had puppies of her own but when she sees puppies or even babies she is very protective over them! My favorite thing about Dutchess is her bond with my daughter. She sleeps either with her or by her door every night and alerts us if she hears anything that she thinks is off!
