Almost 10 yrs ago my ex-husband and I found an ad in the paper with adorable border collie/blue heeler puppies for sale. Dutchess was in a small litter of just her 2 brothers and her, I wanted a girl so I picked her up and held her tiny little body in my arms. She was only 6 wks old and milk drunk!She passed out in my arms and I fell in love and have been in love ever since then!

Dutchess sleeps in my bed with me, every night, under the covers. She has her own spot on the couch. She absolutely loves camping and the lake! She's like a fish and so hard to get out of the water once in it! She loves the sprinklers and we go every day after work so she can attack them and then roll around in the crass to dry off!

I went through a divorce 5 yrs ago and then my ex tragically passed away shortly afterwards. This left all the debt on me. Then Dutchess got diagnosed with diabetes and is expensive to manage monthly. Having her "healthy" again would literally save my life, she is my heart!

Dutchess was diagnosed with chronic diabetes 3 yrs ago and it has been an uphill battle ever since. She had fully formed cataracts within 6 months of her diagnosis and is now almost 100% blind. On 8/1/20 I was advised that she has a "mast cell tumor" on her chest and needs immediate x-ray to make sure it hasn't spread and then surgery for removal. She has been going to Banfield pet hospital.

It has just been Dutchess and I for the past 5 yrs since my divorce. She has become my everything and my reason to live! We have been through a lot together and a lot of heart ache. She might not be the cuddliest girl in her old age, but she makes me smile and feel loved every time I need it! She's got the goofiest personality and loves anyone she can!
