Dutchess is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Oklahoma City, OK, who needs $2,000 for X-ray, Biopsy, Lab Work, Surgery, and Neuter.

I told a friend of mine that I was interested in getting a dog, since I had just moved into a duplex alone and had a home to offer. She said she knew a family that was trying to give away a dog because they had 3 and each one was living in individual crates in the garage. We agreed to go and see the puppy, but when I got there they just handed her to me in her crate and said her name is Dutchess.

Dutchess was 4 yrs old. As far as I knew, she had never been to the vet. I was with her during her heat cycles, trying to make her comfortable. Recently I noticed a small lump near her lower belly, by her nipple. It started to get larger and harder. She's been diagnosed with a mammalian tumor, and I pray it's not cancerous. I can't afford the testing, removal and getting her fixed all at once.

About 3 months after I got Dutchess, I ended up having a heart attack and had to go in for a quadruple bypass. She was very sweet and gentle around me during my 6 weeks of recovery. She has a friend, a male basset hound who lives next door and they love to run and play. If one of them is outside they will bar until the other comes to play. Aside from that, she loves her Daddy and I love her.

Ever since my heart surgery, It's been tough paying off medical bills. I work 40 hours a week and with this cost of living rising, being 55 yrs old and having no family and friends for support, It would mean the world if this works and I can insure her a comfortable future.
