Dutton is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd in Toledo, OR, who needs $2,000 for Femur Bone Ortho Surgery.

Dutton came into our lives as a 6 week old puppy after the gentleman who bred him was going to take him to an auction. One of my fav kids called me crying , begging me to buy him…so I did and that little Merle furball grew into the handsome boy he is today that fills our hearts! We are so lucky Blonde called crying begging us to buy him and give him a family because he has made ours whole.

Dutton loves to be wherever we are! He helps me feed in the mornings and loves to sniff the property to make sure there were no intruders overnight (including the deer and elk). Dutton loves to sleep next to my youngest daughter or on my dirty socks!
He loves to play ball and grab apples that have fallen from the apple tree! Dutton also loves to snatch fresh chicken eggs which helps his coat!

Dutton is a character, he has a twinkle in his eye, smiles at his humans, and loves to snuggle, play ball, and just be by your side. Dutton is my youngest daughter’s 4-H Dog. Last year they participated in their first dog fair in obedience and showmanship!

Dutton broke his femur last Friday, November 24, 2023. Dutton needs an expensive surgery to give him back a quality of life. He needs a plate and screws placed to promote healing and the correct alignment of the bones.
Dutton is being treated by Oregon State University Vet School small animal clinic with Dr Jennifer Warnock as his attending orthopedic surgeon.

I am a single mom of two daughters who serves her community. Dutton is a part of our family and my youngest daughter’s best friend. It would bring us so much peace and joy to have him healthy again, living his best life!
