Eddie is a five-year-old Chihuahua in Venice, FL, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery and medical treatment.

Eddie needed help, stat! Animal control officers found him horribly injured, wandering the streets of Miami. He was in such terrible shape he was dragging one of his front legs. Eddie ended up in a shelter, and when True and Faithful Pet Rescue heard about him, the group rushed over to save him.

"We suspect that he may have been hit by a car or was injured in some other way," Lisa L. from the rescue tells Waggle. She immediately took Eddie to Huntley Animal Care, where he's about to undergo emergency surgery to remove his leg, which could not be fixed. The veterinarian will also be fixing up Eddie's teeth and neutering him.

Despite having such a tough time, Lisa says Eddie is "sweet as pie and one of the nicest dogs you'll ever meet." You can just tell he's very grateful to be receiving the love and care he deserves. Lisa is confident that he will be adopted into a wonderful forever home after his recovery.
