Eeyore is a 6-year-old in Dayton, OH, who needs $1,800 for FHO.

About 6 years ago, I took over care of my mom's dog, Jewel. We had plans to go get Jewel spayed, but spring, and her heat, came first. She got out, and came home later that day, pregnant with 9 puppies. One of those puppies was picked out by a friend, and named Eeyore. By the time the litter had all but found their homes, the friend ended up having to back out of taking her, so she became ours.

Eeyore's best friend in the whole world is her Momma dog, Jewel. They are inseparable. She can always be found with her best friend, destroying stuffies, playing tug of war, or snuggling. She is shy at first with family and friends and always let's out a few anxious barks when visiting with people outside of the household, and always ends up giving lots of apology kisses by the end of the visit.

Eeyore has never really lived up to her name. She is the opposite of melancholy and is really the happiest dog I've ever known. It's rare to see her awake and her tail not wagging. When she's really excited, her whole body wiggles and hops around, so her nickname, is Noodle, which really suits her silly wiggly personality! She is filled with joy and love and gives the best doggy hugs.

While we were out of the house recently, Eeyore dislocated her hip. We can only speculate how she did this, but it was likely from roughhousing while her mom's ran errands. Eeyore is scheduled to have surgery called an FHO, to repair her hip joint. The surgery will be at Grady Veterinary Hospital and performed by Dr. Brian Ward.

The unexpected expense blindsided our family who's savings has gone to repairs to our nearly 100 yr old house &human medical expenses. We are doing all we can to make sure Eeyore is comfortable, seeing her in pain is devastating. Her best friend misses playing with her!
