Senior Pup Eleanor Deserves to Live Comfortably

Sweet Eleanor is a senior girl who ended up at Fort Worth Animal Shelter through no fault of her own. We don’t know many details about her life before CAMO stepped in, but what we do know is that her future is about to be so much brighter.

We knew we had to take Eleanor in as soon as we learned about a large mass in her mouth. Shelter life was incredibly hard on her, and she began refusing to eat. Not because she didn’t want to, but because she was living with constant pain and discomfort for far too long.

We brought her to our rescue’s veterinarian for blood work, an extensive exam, and much-needed pain medication. As soon as we receive her results, we plan to move forward with surgery to remove the mass. Our hope is that this will relieve the pain she’s been enduring and give her the comfort she deserves.

The good news? Eleanor is now safe in a foster home and she’s finally eating again! With time, we know her sweet personality will continue to shine through, and she’ll be able to spend her golden years happy, healthy, and pain-free.

2/16/26 Update: Eleanor underwent surgery

Update on Eleanor, the senior black poodle that was rescue from Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. Elenor finally had her major surgery to remove her cancerous mass the size of a golf ball yesterday. She’s been in ICU being hydrated and on antibiotic IV drip. Eleanor is recovering and ate this AM. She’s a beautiful sweet little 8lb poodle with an adorable little Pitter pat of a walk & zero teeth…
