Ella and her sister Mitzi chose me to be their human when I went to the rescue center. Ella's original name was Mouse, and while she can be timid, she's also spicy and vocal! She was named after the singer Ella Fitzgerald - and because she is grey, she is like an "Ella-phant!" Her nickname is "Jellybean," and she LOVES to eat, watch the squirrels outside, and carry her toys around the house!

Ella loves to snuggle, but only on her terms! If I am home, she usually comes to find me for a good snuggle session between 12-3 PM. Otherwise, she prefers snuggling with her sister. She also loves to get up on the counters to find something she can steal and eat. Ella's favorite game while I'm at work is dragging her toys into the bathroom. Why? Who knows. Just one of her many quirks!

Besides the fact that she is a polydactyl with little mitten paws, I have never had a pet take SO long to find a comfortable spot to snuggle. She will turn in circles over and over until she finds THE perfect spot on my lap. And once she's there, I'm stuck on the sofa! She sings me a song every time we get in the car, and she always meows for her food. She always makes me laugh and smile!

Ella had a tumor in her ear, which she had debulked. After that surgery, the tumor came back, so we did another debulk with surgery to open up her ear canal. And now, the tumor is back again. This time, the specialist told me she needs a TECA-BO and Pinnectomy - there are no other options besides euthanizing. The surgery has a good success rate and will keep the tumor from coming back.

Ella is such a positive vibe in our household, and I can't imagine life without her. Her sister Mitzi would also be devastated. I have done my best to get all of the medical care I could for her over the years, but a $4500 surgery just isn't possible.
