I saw this little white ball of love on TV stretching her arms out and I thought that would fill a hole in my heart. I had no idea how much I would love her. Her name is Ellie. And I liked the show Scrubs and always liked the name Elliot for a girls name so I thought Ellie would be perfect! Driving home with her in the crook of my arm never felt so wonderful!

Ellie sleeps with me every night. My favorite is when it’s winter and it’s chilly she will scratch at the blankets so that she can snuggle underneath it with me. She has plenty of toys but she would rather tear up a box of tissues or a cardboard box. She loves walking but can’t do so since her heart murmur but I play with her as much as I can indoors. she will lick your ankles off if you let her.

Every time I look at Ellie it’s like it’s for the first time. Sometimes I think she thinks her name is “I love you” because I said so many times! When I get out of the shower and take the towel off my head and put it on the bed for her she loves to roll around on it. She loves to rub her back on the carpet especially after she eats or drinks. There’s always the Ellie comedy hour!

Recently Ellie has had these “seizures or fainting spells”. I would take her for a walk and she would get excited and just flop on her side. I took her to the veterinary Medical Center of independence and she was diagnosed with a heart murmur. She’s going to need about $600 worth of medical treatment and then probably more afterwards.

I have lost several jobs in the past year to no fault of my own. I went through an employment agency and they just kept resigning me and giving me no notice so I would be off work for two or three weeks at a time before I’m reassigned.
