I got Ellie as an 8 week old puppy in Colorado. It was love at first site. I immediately knew that we had a special connection. I got Ellie right before I unknowingly was going to go through the worst 2 years of my life. Shortly after I got Ellie I was diagnosed with Neurological Lyme disease and was bed-bound for almost 2 years with crippling symptoms, and unable to work. I received home care from a nurse, I had an IV line permanently in my arm to receive IV antibiotics daily. Ellie was my best friend and my emotional support puppy through all of the hard times. Ellie kept me sane through all of the turmoil this disease brought for me. She gave my life a purpose and kept me going through a nightmare. She would never leave my side. She sat next to me while I received IV treatments daily, and would watch over every nurse visit to my home. When I couldn't get up and down the stairs due to joint pain, Ellie would walk beside me and make sure I was okay. I can't explain how much this dog means to me. Ellie isn't just a dog she is family, and I would do anything for her. I have been so blessed to have gone into remission, and enjoyed this past year healthy and happy with my beautiful dog. In our spare time we do everything together. Car rides to the beach, hiking in the everglades, and swimming in the pool. Ellie loves to chase after birds, play fetch, and go for long walks by the ocean in Florida. She's a happy, sweet, and beautiful little girl. I don't know what I would do without her in my life, and I would have a huge empty hole in my heart without her. She means everything to me and I need her to get better.
