Ellie is a 4-year-old Labrador in Eugene, OR, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

In 2017, Elizabeth joined our family as my son was getting ready to leave for college. She came to us as a sweet, tiny 8wk old fur ball who quickly filled our home with love and laughter. It didn’t take her long to learn to not only sit and stay, but also High Five! Such as smart little puppy has grown into a beautiful dog. Always good natured and her entire body wiggles when she wags her tail.

Ellie brings a light into the house, always excited when I get home from work, the store, or even just taking the garbage out. She isn’t a super active dog, content to just wander and smell all the smells, but does love her mighty walks. Friendly to everyone we meet, both two legged and four legged. Even when she isn’t feeling well, she wiggles her but when ever she sees someone new to say hello.

I work fill time but have had medical issues myself that have dwindled my financial reserves. I just don’t have the ability to cover the surgery at this time, but I can’t stand to have her in pain.

A couple of weeks ago, Ellie started limping really bad after playing at the park. We rushed her to the vet the next day to be told she has ruptured her CCL, the dogs equivalent to a humans ACL. We have been treating her with anti-inflammatory medications and have taken her to a second veterinary hospital where they are recommending surgery to repair the knee enough to enable her to be active.

Ellie can’t handle her licker… she wants to give kisses all the time. She loves her stuffed animals and prances through the house with one in her mouth most of the time. She loves to be out in nature, but let’s her brother win when it comes to chasing the ball or stick most of the time. She does love it when we fake him out and she gets a chance to beat him to why ever we are throwing.
