Ellie Mae didn’t have the best start in life. Rescued when she was 18 months old, Ellie Mae was tied to a tree and severely malnourished, weighing under 40 lbs., I knew I had to take her home. She’s battled spline cancer and overcome it with an invasive operation in her earlier years and within in recent years she’s developed a thyroid condition that was until now maintained by medication. When a large mass began to form on her neck, we were back at the vet, this time with a Thyroid Cancer diagnosis. My hope is to treat Ellie Mae with a medication that will shrink the cancerous tumor in her thyroid and allow her to live out her remaining years in peace and comfort. Ellie Mae is more than a dog, she’s a member of my family, pack member to her sisters Phoebe and Amelia...and my granddaughter who thinks she’s a dog too.
