Ellie originally belonged to my in-laws. They had her for the first 6+ months of her life and then my MIL got sick and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. They wanted so badly to keep her but decided the best thing for her was to give her up. My MIL knew she wasn’t going to be able to give her the attention she deserved now that she was going to be in and out of the doctors and very weak. My MIL ended up calling my husband and I and asked if we would be willing to take her so she would still be able to see her throughout her life. We said yes right away and decided to go ahead and adopt her from them. We couldn’t let such a sweet pup go especially since she is a rottweiler and we didn’t want her to end up with someone who might take advantage of that.
