Elsie is a 7 Year Old Alaskan Malamute in Chicago, IL, Who Needs $12,300 for L TPLO.

We got Elsie by way of a family friend in February of 2018; she was 8 weeks old. When we got her, we had two other dogs and two cats, it is now just her and my sister's 15-year-old cat. We live in a 2-bedroom, 2nd floor apartment.

Elsie started to limp with her left hind leg in June, it became more frequent and more pronounced as summer progressed. She was assessed as having pulled a muscle and prescribed pain meds. After the pain meds ran out, it wasn't better. We took her to Vetco, they took x-rays, they concluded she needed surgery and referred us to specialty vet hospitals. We chose Premier Veterinary Group.

Elsie will jump into your arms like she's still a puppy, lick your face and make you fall in love with her. She loves to play, especially with her friends. She is also very gentle with smaller animals and children. She is even gentle with my sister's very grumpy cat. She is spoiled, thanks to me and her admirers, and clever. She is an escape artist. She is protective of her family. We love her.

I am a teacher's aide for CPS; I love my work. Unfortunately, Elsie's torn CCL requires a $7,300 surgery so she can have 80% -90% mobility again. There is also a needed MRI to fully assess a recent seizure. This will cost an additional $5,000.
