About this campaign
Emmie has been the center of our family since we adopted her in Dallas back in 2016. She was found on the streets of Amarillo Texas with her two puppies, and has been the perfect pup as we've moved across the country to multiple cities, eventually landing in Chicago for the last six years.
In early January, Emmie got into some trash and developed acute pancreatitis. While treating that issue, blood testing revealed that Emmie has many more underlying issues with her liver that have gone undetected. After spending over $5,000 with our primary vet (GoodVets), we've been referred to MedVets Animal Hospital for additional diagnostics estimated around $7,000.
Emmie brings joy every where she goes. Her sweet face is so infectious that when we walk down the street, we can see peoples faces light up at the sight of her. I can't believe something so small can bring so much joy just by existing. She's nothing short of perfect to us and everyone she meets.
We have done our best to cover her recent vet bills, but we are at our limit and still don't have an official diagnosis. This feeling is heartbreaking and all we want to do is get her better. A surgical biopsy will give us the answers we need, but we simply can't afford it.
