Emmy was a rescue. I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old. She’s been by my side through some of the hardest things in my life. Life has been turbulent for some time now. My partner was hit by a drunk driver and suffered a traumatic brain injury. My father is terminal and has lived with me for a year. My partner and I have spent tens of thousands of dollars in medical treatments and accident related expenses. We’ve had to travel weekly for medical appointments. Emmy has been there for me and my partner through every hard day. My dad is home most of the day. Emmy has been his companion. When he has a bad day she stays by his side or follows him through out the house to make sure he’s okay. She has nothing but love to give. It’s obvious she is in pain but she never complains.
