Help Empress Heal From a Severe Eye Infection

Meet Empress, a beautiful two-year-old Bengal cat whose gentle presence has become a lifeline for the family who loves her. Empress came into their lives during one of the hardest chapters they have faced. She was brought home to help comfort a 13-year-old girl struggling with depression and anxiety, and from the very beginning, Empress became so much more than a pet. She became a source of peace, stability, and unconditional love for the entire family.

She curls up beside her during difficult moments. She brings laughter to her four-year-old sibling. In a home that has been navigating emotional challenges, Empress has been a constant source of comfort and calm. But now, Empress is the one in need of help.

What began as mild redness around her eye quickly became much more serious. Her family rushed her to the emergency veterinarian, where she was diagnosed with severe conjunctivitis likely secondary to feline herpesvirus infection and anxiety. She is now receiving urgent treatment, including medication and ongoing follow-up care to help relieve her pain and protect her vision.

Her medical care is estimated to cost $1,800. Thankfully, Paws 4 A Cure has provided a $400 grant, but her family still urgently needs help raising the remaining $1,400 needed for Empress’s treatment and recovery.

Her family is doing everything they can, but the unexpected emergency costs are overwhelming.

Empress has spent the last two years comforting this family through their darkest moments. Now it’s our turn to comfort her.
