Estrella is a 10 month old Russian Blue mix kitten recently rescued and adopted by our family of 3 in Oceanside, CA. She joins 2 other rescues; Valentina, a 6 month old dilute tortie kitten, and Sasha a 4 year old Burmese mix. We recently lost a wonderful Russian Blue mix cat (Luna) that we had loved for 13 years to cancer. Estrella looks a lot like her.

We have only had Estrella for 3 days so far, but she already is loving and sweet to everyone. She really loves my 18 year old son, purring and rubbing against his arms and hands, begging for caresses. Our big Burmese gets along well with her too, but the feisty little tortie may takes some time, LOL. My daughter fell in love with Estrella too, calling her "The little stuffed animal".

Estrella is easily the most affectionate of our three cats. She wants cuddles, and to be held all the time. Even in terrible pain, she was still purring and rubbing her head against us. She has the most adorable tiny baby meow, that along with her big green eyes, will melt your heart. She never scratches, even when playing.

I noticed a strange odor coming from Estrella's mouth and her difficulty eating dry food Immediately I took her to our trusted vet, Dr. Ku at VCA Animal Hospital. The diagnosis was a grim shock. Estrella has Stomatitis, a very painful autoimmune disease of the teeth and gums. Inflammation spreads from the gums to the entire mouth, The only cure is removal of most, if not all, of the teeth.

Teachers are not paid in summer here, so I have to save 2 paychecks worth to make it to September.. The cost of cancer treatment for the cat we lost, plus the $2900 cost to save Estrella will wipe out the entire savings. But I can't give up on her if I am able to save her
