Hi I adopted Ethel in April it was love at first sight. I needed a friend for my other dog Lucy as she has high anxiety issues and needs a friend and her sister (Savannah) had liver disease and didn’t have long to live. From day one Lucy and Ethel became inseparable. But then I noticed changes with Ethel, we were told she suffers from hydrocephalus and without surgery she’d have to be Euthanized

Ethel has brought pure joy and love to myself, her sister Lucy and my brother. We all fell head over heels in love with this little puppy, she is comical always on the go, always ready to give love to everyone she comes in contact with. Her bond with Lucy was amazing from day 1. When she started having health issues she always had to be next to or on top of Lucy. They both needed to be together.

This was an unexpected and a sudden and major medical expense I wasn’t expecting and had no emergency funds put aside, it happened so fast I didn’t have a chance to get pet insurance . It’s been more financially devastating than even originally expected.

Ethel is at Pieper Memorial Animal Hospital where she’s been for over 2 weeks. She’s had to have 2 surgeries and is now fighting for her life and recovery. The neurologist Dr. Hammond is the best of the best and has done everything possible. Now it’s up to Ethel, she is a fighter and with lots of love and her determination will overcome this.

To meet Ethel is to love her, you can’t help but fall in love with those ears of hers lol. She loved to be giving you kisses and just snuggle up for some kisses and snuggle time. From the day we got her she ruled the house just because of who she was, she is gentle and never barked. All she wants is chicken patties (her favorite food) and kisses and her bestie Lucy.
