About this campaign
Eve is a Hearing Service Dog. I’ve been Deaf since birth. She came from Paws With a Cause about 7 years ago to my happy home. We live in a Low income apartment in Oak Park Michigan. I get SSDI which is not much at all. Eve is loved by all who meet her, which is many. I take her everywhere I would go myself.
Eve is specifically trained in several areas. She answers the door. Tells me when alarms go off such as the fire alarm or bed alarm. Her favorite pastimes are playing with small tots and laying on my lap while we watch TV. She loves to go to restaurants with me probably hoping for something to fall from the table.
I am disabled. I have a host of various diseases which include gastroparesis, heart disease and deafness. My SSDI checks are very small but I have enough for what we need. This operation however is more than I can afford. I just don’t know what I’m going to do.
Eve has a large kidney stone. Plaza Veterinary Hospital has been doing what they can to help giving me different foods to try to dissolve the stone on its self. Unfortunately this has not been happening. She started throwing up the food that they last gave me two months ago. We’ve been monitoring the stone with x-rays but it just seems to be very large.
Eve is a very active dog who rolls around on the carpet often. The funniest thing she does is at 2am she runs around the apartment at incredible speeds. Back and forth. Jumping on the furniture and ottoman. Usually around this time she’ll wave at me with both paws. This means she wants a treat. She loves these meaty treats that I give her or CHEESE!!!
